Technology in all its fields has become a key element of development and progress in the Kingdom, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom has expanded significantly in this field, moving toward cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, communications technologies, investment in media and various technological sciences, and the establishment and expansion of technology companies.

In this context, the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), in partnership with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, announced its scientific investment project for the commercialization of deep technologies. The project targets research teams in the Kingdom that possess prototypes or advanced technologies ready for testing and commercialization.

As part of the project, a scientific research boot camp will be held at The Garage in Riyadh from May 3 to 5, 2026. The boot camp aims to support researchers and innovators by providing an enabling environment equipped with the tools and skills necessary to transform their innovative projects into successful investment models. This will contribute to overcoming the marketing challenges facing deep technologies and directing innovations toward serving development in the Kingdom.

The organization of the boot camp comes as part of KACST’s efforts to empower research teams and accelerate the transition of their innovative outputs into commercial products with economic impact. This supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in diversifying the national economy and promoting the growth of enterprises based on advanced technologies.

It is worth noting that the Innovation Acceleration Program from Research to Market, organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in partnership with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, Jameel Community Saudi Arabia, and the International Telecommunication Union, has achieved impactful results in supporting researchers and innovators and enabling them to transform scientific research outputs into valuable products and solutions. This contributes to building an integrated innovation ecosystem and enhances the readiness of national innovations to move toward commercial and investment stages.

According to information published by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) on its website, and based on statistics reflecting the scale of achievements and national impact through reliable performance indicators and data, the Kingdom has:

  • 3,000 researchers, innovators, and specialists

  • 45 deep technology companies

  • 7,500 direct jobs in startups

  • 450 trainees in semiconductor technologies

  • 290 technology startups, valued at SAR 6.4 billion

  • 30 trainees in the first practical training program on a low-power research reactor

KACST is an integrated ecosystem that brings together national centers, initiatives, and platforms supporting research and innovation. It contributes to building a knowledge-based society that encourages development and growth.
