Ahwal Al-Ma'rifa – Special
The activities of the First Saudi-Egyptian Literary Forum will begin on June 15, 2026, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The two-day forum is being organized by the Literature and Writers Association in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Launched for the first time, the forum aims to build cultural, literary, and intellectual bridges that reflect the depth of the ties, intellectual exchange, and integration between the two countries. This will be achieved through distinguished meetings and creative programs that highlight the richness of the cultural scenes in both countries.
The forum also aims to strengthen cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, highlight literary exchanges between Saudi and Egyptian literature, explore experiences of mutual interaction and influence, encourage critical and academic studies addressing the development of contemporary Arabic literature in both countries, and support communication among writers, researchers, and cultural institutions in ways that contribute to developing the Arab literary movement. It also seeks to highlight the role of literature in strengthening civilizational rapprochement and shared cultural awareness among Arab peoples.
It is worth noting that the Literature and Writers Association is a specialized nonprofit organization dedicated to the literary sector under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. It is registered with the National Center for Nonprofit Sector Development and is headquartered in Madinah.
The Association has previously organized a wide range of literary and cultural events. It has witnessed diverse cultural activity, including literary forums, seminars, poetry evenings, workshops, and training courses that contribute to developing the skills of male and female students and strengthening the literary presence across various regions of the Kingdom
