King Abdulaziz Public Library Launches Its Fifth Reading Tour Across Governorates and Centers
Today, the King Abdulaziz Public Library launched its mobile buses for the fifth reading tour, covering the governorates and areas of Marat, Dhurma, Sadus, Al-Uyaynah, Al-Jubailah, Diriyah, and Rumah, and concluding in Al-Rumhiyah. This educational campaign targets 50 schools and over 90,000 beneficiaries, offering reading-focused theatrical performances and workshops. These activities are part of the National Cultural Project to Renew the Connection with Books, which aims to foster an environment conducive to creativity and encourage young people to read. The project achieves this by hosting reading-based theater events for K-12 students and conducting reading workshops for middle and high school students, alongside various public events. This distinctive initiative builds upon other innovative programs launched by the library to reach readers—such as airport reading programs, the Children's Library project, and school reading initiatives—reflecting its commitment to encouraging all segments of society to read and explore diverse fields of knowledge. Notably, the National Project to Renew the Connection with Books served more than 260,412 beneficiaries in 2023.
