The King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh is launching its seventh reading tour through its mobile buses next Sunday, heading to the Jazan Region. The tour will cover several cities and centers, namely Jazan, Samtah, Abu Arish, Al-Ardah, Dhamad, Sabya, and Al-Darb. The tour will continue for more than two weeks, until the 17th of the same month.

The tour aims to reach approximately 60 schools and more than 95,000 beneficiaries through seven reading events held on various stages and reading workshops, with the participation of male and female students from intermediate and secondary schools. It will also feature a number of activities and events held in public spaces.

The tour comes as part of the educational activities carried out by the National Project for Renewing the Connection with Books, which aims to engage various segments of society, particularly male and female students, by creating a suitable environment that nurtures creativity and encouraging young people to read. Reading opens pathways to knowledge and strengthens interaction between books, the primary medium of knowledge, and future generations. This contributes to strengthening identity and belonging, introducing readers to the Kingdom’s achievements, both past and present, and providing opportunities to explore aspects of science, literature, and the arts through the diverse range of books offered by the mobile libraries.

It is worth noting that the National Project for Renewing the Connection with Books organized a range of reading and cultural activities in 2024, benefiting more than 280,450 people. The educational project continues a number of innovative initiatives introduced by the library to reach different segments of society and encourage continuous reading through reading programs for school students, mobile libraries, and learning-resource buses that travel to all regions of the Kingdom. The library aims to ensure that these tours contribute to promoting the values of reading and cultural and intellectual engagement.
