Advising & reference
Extension and reference services are a measure of the performance of libraries and information centres, and the quality of their public or direct services, as well as a mirror reflecting their activities and objectives and their capacity to assist beneficiaries and recipients, to meet their needs for obtaining the information desired and to guide them to the most rational and optimal use of library holdings.
From this perspective, the Library interacts through its qualified information specialists with the beneficiary groups and ensures that they are provided with the best advice and that it meets their knowledge and information needs by answering their information queries, responding to their questions and queries regarding the library system, directing them and instructing them on how to use references and resources related to a particular subject, as well as identifying and training users in the use of automated indexes of library holdings, and how to access electronic databases.
